According to the National Institute of Mental Health, more than a quarter of American adults experience depression, anxiety, or another mental disorder in any given year. Others need help coping with a serious illness, losing weight, or stopping smoking. A therapist can help you work through such problems. Psychotherapy is a collaborative process based on the relationship between an individual and a psychologist. Grounded in dialogue, it provides a supportive environment that allows you to talk openly with someone who’s objective, neutral, and nonjudgmental. By the time you’re done, you will not only have solved the problem that brought you in, but you will have learned new skills so you can better cope with whatever challenges arise in the future.
If you're considering psychotherapy, several options are available. One of those options is group therapy. Depending on the nature of your problem, group therapy can be an ideal choice for addressing your concerns and making positive changes in your life. Group therapy involves one or more therapists who lead a group of roughly five to 15 patients. Many groups are designed to target a specific problem, such as depression, obesity, panic disorder, social anxiety, chronic pain or substance abuse. Other groups focus more generally on improving social skills, helping people deal with a range of issues such as anger, shyness, loneliness and low self-esteem. Joining a group of strangers may sound intimidating at first, but group therapy provides benefits that individual therapy may not.

I see the majority of my clients through live video or telephone sessions. In many cases, if you are located in Orange county, California, in-person sessions can be arranged on a case by case basis. Additional fees may apply.
Much like traditional, in-person sessions. The main difference is that you don’t have to drive to an office, find parking, sit in a waiting room, walk back to your car, and drive back home. You can log into a live video session with your therapist or coach from your smartphone, computer, or iPad. You will see and hear your service provider, and she will see and hear you.
We are an out-of-network provider with insurance. This means that if you are receiving individual psychotherapy and have insurance, you can submit our bill for a potential reimbursement by your insurance company. Our bill is a document that includes your mental health diagnoses, our provider information, and the dates of service. We provide bills as requested on a monthly basis, free of charge. Insurance reimbursement rates vary based on your specific insurance plan information. We’ve found that most of our clients are reimbursed between 50% to 70% of each session.
Following your first consultation, if you choose to book future sessions, we’ll send you a credit card authorization form to complete and return. Your credit card will then be charged immediately following all future sessions.
We understand how chaotic life can be, so our cancellation policy is much more flexible than most providers. You are always able to reschedule or cancel a session as long you contact your provider at least 24 hours in advance of your session to avoid any cancellation fees. We do appreciate receiving as much notice as possible when a session needs to be canceled or rescheduled. This allows us to offer last-minute sessions to other clients in need.
Yes, in addition to the credit card authorization form mentioned above, you’ll be completing a consent for treatment form as well as a document confirming that you have received notice of our privacy practices. We also send clients in intake questionnaire to gather helpful information. We encourage clients to complete this prior to beginning their first session, it is a legal requirement in order to begin your therapeutic journey.
